The Cat Whisperer

As many of you know, Magdalene has a strong affinity for kitties.....the 4-legged kind in this instance.  Magdalene has a posse of 25+ kitties that she cares for, feeds and shelters daily.  This number does not include the "free-range kitties" she also feeds who roam the neighborhood and sadly, have no real place to call home.  She is the modern day version of St. Gertrude of Nivelles, patron saint of felines.  Legend states water from her well and bread baked in her oven were believed to repel rodents.

In doing some research on the history of cats, I came across this interesting website -  http://www.sniksnak.com/lore.html - which explores the beliefs, legends and myths surrounding cats.  For instance, there is a long-held Celtic belief that cats' eyes are thought to be windows through which humans may explore an inner world, and Egyptian cats, during the time of the Pharaoh, were worshiped by humans for various personal, religious, spiritual and agricultural reasons, just to name a few.  Felines are an extraordinary creature with a long history interwoven with mankind.  Their history and symbolism is long, varied and nothing short of interesting as well as intriguing.

As I mentioned earlier, Magdalene feeds, shelters and provides medical care for all the kitties she cares for. (Just as a side note, its not unusual for the kitties to have some welcomed guests stop over to eat or play.)  All expenses come out of her own pocket.  Unlike many actresses with wish lists requesting name brand swag, Magdalene put together a wish list requesting items to help feed and care for all her kitties.  If you haven't contributed to the kitty wish list, I ask you to please click on the link and make a donation.  And even if you have contributed, I ask you to do so again...and again...and again.....Giving is good for the soul....and the kitties.   Magdalene and the kitties will thank you.  http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3T2U0CR8BNAK/ref=cm_sw_su_w

Thank you!
